Cultural Highlights

A visit to the Terracotta Army is a must while in Xi'an. At this UNESCO World Heritage site, terracotta warriors and horses protect the tomb of emperor Qin Shi Huang, the first unifier of China. If you're looking for great views of the city, rent a bike and cycle along Xi'an city wall, built during the Ming dynasty. Once you're done, you will find an abundance of food and street snacks on every street corner. Or if you're feeling adventurous, consider climbing Mount Hua, one of China's five great mountains. For something more leisurely, stroll through Daming Palace, the former imperial residence of the Tang dynasty emperors, or check out Shaanxi history museum.
